संदर्भ

अब्दुल बाबा कई वर्षों तक साईं बाबा के अन्तरंग मुस्लिम सेवक थे। बाल्यकाल में शिरडी आये, बाबा से गहरा स्नेह रखा, और चावड़ी में उनके निकट सोते। उर्दू-मराठी के अनेक भक्ति-गीतों का उद्गम बाबा से उन्हें मिले उपदेशों से बताया जाता है।

• अध्याय 22 (अमीर शक्कर का सर्प) — मध्य-रात्रि बाबा चिल्लाये: 'अरे अब्दुल, कोई दुष्ट प्राणी मेरी शय्या के किनारे टकरा रहा है।' लालटेन से अमीर के तकिये पर सर्प की कुण्डली मिली।
• अध्याय 34 (डॉ. पिल्लै के नारू) — बाबा ने कहा था: 'एक कौवा आयेगा और चोंच मारेगा — तब स्वस्थ होगे।' अब्दुल का पैर अनजाने में पिल्लै के पैर पर पड़ा — सात नारू एक साथ निकल गये। 'अब्दुल ही कौवा था।'
• अध्याय 35 — हेमाडपंत 'अब्दूला' को बालाजी पाटिल और राधा-कृष्ण माई के पश्चात मस्जिद की गलियाँ साफ करने वाले तीसरे उत्तराधिकारी के रूप में सूचीबद्ध करते हैं।

1936 के बयान के विषय में

अब्दुल बाबा का 1936 बयान (पृष्ठ 152) नरसिंह स्वामी का सर्वाधिक महत्त्वपूर्ण मुस्लिम-साक्षी बयान है। अब्दुल रहीम रंगारी, राजबल्ली खोजा, आदम दलाली, इमामबाई छोटा खान के साथ मिलकर वे बाबा के ऐक्य-जीवन का मस्जिद-पक्ष संरक्षित करते हैं।

नरसिंह स्वामी से शब्दशः उद्धरण (1940 का दशक)

at he did not wish to get involved in any Samsara (like sharing profits). So I gave up that idea. After 1918, I still consult him, by chits etc. and he guides me still. Once when I sat at his feet along with many others, I had two questions in my mind and he gave answers to both. I. There are so many crowding to Sai Baba. Do they all get benefit from him? To this he replied orally. “Look at the mango tree in blossom. If all flowers turned fruit what a splendid crop it would be.
